About

People engage with content differently these days. Our attention spans are shorter, our time is limited, the number of ways content can reach us is infinite and we can aggressively control what we engage with. What THREAD does is create and programme relevant content for your brand and make sure that it reaches and engages with your audience. That’s it in a nutshell.

Our work consists of:

We deliver world class, high value production with our mobile production units, no matter the size of the project or budget.
Whether it be focused campaigns to ensure that your content meets expectations in terms of audience reach, or whether it’s combining technologies to create something in the digital world that has never been seen before, Thread are dedicated, experienced and don’t have the words “Can’t be done” in our vocabulary.
This is the core of what it’s all about. We will make sure your brand content reaches your target audience using the relevant channels at the right time. It’s not about one piece of content any more – it’s about threads of content that can interlink across channels.
This is pretty much what it says. Here we’re talking user-focussed threads of content – not full on shows – to keep your audience engaged in a mobile world.
In brand speak – we can create content that brings your brand’s marketing & communication strategy to life in a way that is relevant and compelling to your target audience.
Being part of Moonlighting means we have the support of 25 years of production experience and infrastructure. What that means for you is that you’re in safe, trusted hands and will have access to excellent supplier rates and service thanks to our long established relationships.

Jon Savage

Jon Savage

Creative director

Jon Savage is a maker of things. He began as a filmmaker at a young age until his musical career exploded in the form of a globe-trotting rock band called Cassette. He has subsequently been a music producer, a DJ on South Africa’s national radio station, the music director of the SA Music Awards, the creator of the 5FM Mashlab phenomenon, a writer for Rolling Stone magazine, a film director and is now the Creative Director of a company called Thread, which focuses on making things awesome.

Carl Booysen

Carl Booysen

Producer

Carl makes Thread projects happen – from the initial budget right through to delivering the final product. With a background in design, he cut his production teeth as a soundman, camera assistant, and then cameraman, working on cult travel show “Going Nowhere Slowly” as well as many documentaries, reality shows and corporates. Four years at Thread’s parent company Moonlighting followed where he was thrown into the heart of production and budgeting, working on all types of international projects from 2-man crew radio recordings to major brand commercials. The nature of Thread’s work means he can combine production savvy with creativity. In other words, his perfect job!
